Reference definitions and terms used throughout Little Bird Trading.

Directional Terms

  • Headwinds: Short lean for a given timeframe.
  • Tailwinds: Long lean for a given timeframe.
  • Perch: No signal and should wait for next trading session.
  • Mark: The level, above or below, to potentially express your lean.

Timeframe Terms

  • Day Trader: Target holding timeframe of no longer than intraday.
  • Trader: Target holding timeframe of days to weeks.
  • Investor: Target holding timeframe of weeks to months.


Terms

  • Coverage: The set of assets included in a daily report.
  • Shortlist: The reduced set of candidates selected after scanning.
  • Execution Layer: Spreadsheets and MyLinedChart lean lines.
  • Process Review: Post-session evaluation of discipline and decision quality.

Additional Terms

  • Regime: Overall directional environment indicated by signal distribution.
  • Alignment: When setup direction and lean context match.
  • Context Drift: When conditions change and invalidate prior assumptions.
  • Execution Discipline: Following predefined rules despite emotional pressure.
